Biography

Since 2022, Mr. Oberting has served as a strategic advisor to Rail Modal Group, a rail intermodal terminal transportation and logistics company. Prior to Rail Modal Group, Mr. Oberting served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sirius International Insurance Group, Ltd., a global reinsurance company, from 2019 to 2021, and previously served as its Chief Financial Officer, Director and Audit Committee Chair from 2016 to 2019. Prior to joining Sirius International Insurance Group, Ltd., Mr. Oberting served as a Senior Partner of White Mountains Capital, Inc. from 2012 to 2016, was the founder and Managing Member of Oakum Bay Capital from 2008 to 2012 and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Montpelier Re Holdings, Ltd. from 2004 to 2008. Mr. Oberting also served in various capacities at White Mountains Insurance Group from 1995 to 2004 and began his career as a trader at CS First Boston (Japan) from 1993 to 1995. Mr. Oberting holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College.
